Fractional Dial

I think it's often worth drawing inspiration from our daily interactions with physical counterparts in order to make digital interactions that feel intuitive and familiar.

Inspiration

I was looking at the controls on my Olympus OM-D E-M10 and I realized that dials are a very common interaction pattern on hardware devices. I don't see this interaction pattern as often on the web which led me to wonder if a digital implementation of a dial would be practical.

Experiment

While physical dials are often very stiff and snappy, I've taken the liberty of adding a subtle bounce to the animation to create a more lively feel.
